Hey there, I’m Brit and I want to inspire you to create!
I’m an Oregon-based content creator, creativity hype-woman, DIY virtuoso, craft supply aficionado, fabric collector, thoughtful design enthusiast, relentless organizer, graveyard stroller, true-crime podcast lover, and a glutton for gelato and slasher movies.
I believe, mostly based on personal experience, that being consistently creative can have some awesome effects. Things like feeling accomplished, gaining brag-worthy troubleshooting skills, releasing anxiety, in addition to having increased self-confidence are a few examples that come to mind. Inspiring and motivating people to be creative lights me up, and I want to help you be creative too!
In fact, I founded Britni Jade DIY(formerly Stitching Witch Crafts) back in 2020 as a DIY and lifestyle blog for ghouls and creeps, with the mission to provide inspiring tutorials and other resources for the macabre and creatively inclined. Everything from sewing, baking, fiber art techniques, die-cutting, DIY flips, decor inspiration, and spooky lifestyle content are covered here!
For a while I relentlessly pursued a career in the fashion industry and later a position as a costume fabricator in stop-motion animation, only to find these career paths weren’t quite right for me. I was attracted to the ingenuity, at times collaborative, and storytelling attributes of these careers, but was looking for an option that built community with a mission to get folks creating. This motivation prompted me to start the blog, to bring together members of the spooky community to get creative, and I’m so thrilled that I did!
The blog and YouTube channel are currently a side-hustle, with ambitions and goals of growing into a full-time gig. While juggling blog operations I also make time on the weekends to go on day adventures with my husband to the coast or the mountains(one of the many perks of living in Oregon), to snuggle up with my kitties(Exmoor and Zinnia), and to hit up at least one of my fav brunch spots(hello Waffle Window!).
