Candy Heart Muffin Toppers
Hey ghouls and creeps! Today I had a hankering for banana nut muffins with chocolate chips and decided to go the extra mile with these super cute but spooky muffin toppers! Inspired by the Sweethearts Candy that has become a Valentine’s Day staple for so many people, with a creepy twist. The banana nut muffins with chocolate chips recipe I found via a blog on Pinterest. There are so many good options if you’re thinking this sounds great too! Let’s get started!
The Candy Heart Muffin Toppers project is an easy one! Just download the file, cut the toppers on your die-cutter, and glue layers together!
Step 1: Cut your Toppers: Use the JPG file below to cut out the card fronts in Cricut Design Space, or on a Glowforge.

Step 2: Glue Toppers: Take your hearts with the phrases and punch out all letter pieces before gluing. Using a paper glue stick, apply glue to the wrong side of your phrase hearts.
Press heart to one of the dark pink heart cut-outs, lining up edges.
Hot glue a standard toothpick to the backside of the hearts. Line the toothpick up with the heart’s center. I placed the toothpick’s end approximately a 1/4” from the heart’s center top. This gave a toothpick extension of 1 1/4” from the bottom.
As the toothpick is drying in place, apply more hot glue around the top of the hearts.
Take a blank heart matching the color of the phrase heart, and press to the back of the hearts. This will sand which the toothpick in between the heart layers.
Step 3: Decorate your Muffins: After allowing your muffin toppers to dry completely and after baking your muffins, simply stick your picks in your muffins and enjoy!
Congratulations on your cute and delicious treats! These are great for Valloween or just because! Sew extra topper hearts together into a continuous strand to create an easy garland! I scaled the hearts to be approximately 4” X 4” to make little Valloween cards for coworkers! I included those cutting templates up above if you’re interested in making some too!
