Halloween Treat Pillow Boxes

Hey ghouls and creeps! Halloween is just around the corner, can you believe it!?! Dress up your candy that you’ll be handing out to trick or treaters, or wish your coworkers a happy Halloween with these super cute but spooky treat pillow boxes! They’re super easy to make, especially if you have a Cricut machine available to assist with the cutting! Make your boxes in bright bold colors or a gothic color palette to reflect your personal Halloween aesthetic.

I rated the Halloween Treat Pillow Boxes as easy! Skills needed for this project include either manual cutting or cutting on your Cricut, gluing, writing with a chalk/paint pen, and pillow box assembly. Let’s get started!

*These supply quantities can make six pillow boxes!

Step 1: Cutting: Using the JPEG or SVG files below cut your box pieces with your Cricut machine, or print and use as templates and cut manually. Follow instructions on templates for paper colors and quantities.

Step 2: Bat Prep: After cutting your bat die-cuts, take your chalk/paint pen and write “Happy Halloween,” or other seasonal greeting of choice on the bat’s front. Allow ink to dry thoroughly before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: Box Assembly: If you did not complete the scoring lines with your Cricut machine, take an Xacto knife and execute them manually. Take a transparent ruler to assist with the straight cuts where the box folds in half and along the joining flap.

Then use one of the other pillow boxes or print the cutting file and use as a guide to score the arches that make the box’s sides. After all score lines are finished, fold your box along score lines.

Apply paper adhesive to the center back of each bat die cut. Then press the bat to one of the pillow boxes lining up the bat’s tail to the bottom edge of the box.

Now that your bat(s) have been securely glued to your box fronts, you can now assemble your boxes! Fold up each box, and tape the bottom seam and box ends. Make sure to stick your candy inside before closing up the second end! I found that I could snuggly fit two fun size M&Ms inside.

Congrats you’re finished! Take these festive Halloween goodies to work, school, or hand them out to trick or treaters/ friends and family!
