Choose Your Adventure Jackalope Quilted Wall Hanging

Hello! I’ve always been a fan of geometric wood art, so I figured, why not use that as inspiration for a quilt pattern? I’ll be reviewing a few quilting and fiber art techniques in the making of this wall hanging. Which include two different applique application methods, quilt piecing, quilt binding, and embroidery. I entitled this post with “Choose your own Adventure,” because you can include as many, or as little, of the embellishment options as you would like to!

Sugar Skull/ Pride Skulls Potholders

As a personal challenge, I wanted to see if I could come up with a block pieced together to look like a skull measuring 3″ X 3″ (when finished). I’ve always had an attraction to miniature objects, and really thought it would be cute to have potholders with little pieced multi-colored skulls. These potholders would be great for Dia de los Muertos festivities, to display your support of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, or to just add some color to your home decor!

Bad to the Bone Care Package Weaving Series

I love the sentiment of care packages, giving someone a thoughtful gift for no other reason than just say, “Hey you’re rad!” This project is the first of the weaving series where I’ll explore using a variety of mediums, both traditional and unconventional. For today, we will be weaving paper and using the weave to decorate our care package. Use this technique for decorating packages, creating envelopes, making coasters, or embellishment for paper crafting projects.
