Grinch Thank You Cards

Grinch Thank You Card

Hey ghouls and creeps! This week we’re wrapping up Creepmas content for 2021 with these Grinch thank you cards! To show everyone our appreciation for the gifts we received we try to send out thank yous. If I’m super on it that year, and I come up with a card design I love, I handmake our cards. This year, I took the illustration for the Grinch’s small heart and turned it into this endearing card! I plan to write “In Portland they say, the Smith-Johnson’s hearts grew three sizes that day,” to begin the message on the inside. Change out the words for this intro to make it personal, or use a different quote of your choice! There are so many options! Let’s get started!

I rated this project as easy! Skills and techniques included in the making of this: importing file below into Cricut Design Space/ other die-cut software, cutting die cuts, gluing paper to paper, cutting and folding cards, and minor writing with a chalk pen.

Step 1: Cutting: Use the JPEG or SVG file below in Cricut Design Space or other die/laser cutting software to cut out your heart layers. Follow the instructions in the file to determine cardstock colors and quantities.

Step 2: Grinch Hearts: After finishing all your die cuts, use a white chalk marker to write your 1s and 2s on your black hearts.

Then after allowing the ink to dry, place one of the black hearts over all the white backer hearts, and trace the heart on the inside.

Using the traced heart as a guide, glue your red hearts over your traced outline.

Once finished, glue your black hearts(chalk pen/red heart side up) onto the white hearts lining up all edges.

Step 3: Card Assembly: Yay! You finished your Grinch hearts! Now cut your 12″X12″ cardstock sheets to yield two 6″X4″ cards(or 6″X8″ when not folded).

Fold your cut cardstock in half to produce your 6″X4″ cards.

Then measure 1 1/2″ from the top of your card(fold on left side) and glue your hearts on the fronts of your cards.

Yes! You’re finished with your creepy but festive Grinch thank you cards! Now fill them out with your expressions of gratitude, and send them out for the recipients to enjoy!
